Drift 2009, October 2, 3 &4 (in shops Oct. 1-15) :The Drift is fast approaching- only 4 weeks to go! Volunteers have been working hard to get all the details right, and this year we have more Main Street shops and more artists participating than ever! If you haven't checked out your artist yet, here's the retail partners list with links. All Drift Retailers hosting a Drift artist can expect a call and a visit soon, if you have not already been contacted. This is an opportunity to meet each other, set up a convenient time to install the artwork by October 1, and discuss mutual publicity ideas and possible special events. The 2009 Drift Map has gone to the printer, so any changes or new information will not be included in the printed brochure. The web site will have an updated list of events and 'Drift Specials'. Drift Silent Auction - Request for DonationsOn Friday, October 2, 7 PM- midnight, The Main Art Drift Society presents the Drift 2009 Gala Fundraiser Dance & Silent Auction with Funk & Soul Big Band the Phonix. Kick off the Drift weekend and party with the artists! Enjoy hors d'oeuvres & cocktails and bid on a huge number of Silent Auction items, including donated artwork and fantastic merchandise and services from The Drift's Main Street retail partners and local businesses. We are inviting our Retail Partners to help make the Gala Fundraiser a big success by donating products or services to be auctioned. So far, donations include a $250.00 gift card from Opus Framing & Art Supplies, a $200.00 gift certificate towards the purchase of fine art from Elliot Louis Gallery, many original art works donated by Drift artists, Main Street restaurant gift certificates, and more . . We will feature all our Silent Auction Donors on the web site and in upcoming newsletters. Support the Drift and donate something today!
