Arrangements for the artist to hang or set up their art work by October 1 for the weekend event should be in place. If you have any concerns or questions please contact Diane so we can sort them out. Publicity Kits/Help Get the Word OutDrift volunteers have delivered your publicity packages with a supply of maps, 2 posters and a sign for your window or door. Many shops have put their posters in the window and it is a big help to promote the event ahead of time. If you can manage to place your poster in a prominent and visible spot, it would be appreciated. The laminated sign can go up during the event and a dry marker can be used to put your map # in the blank space. If you didn't get your kit, or need more maps, contact Diane 604 731 6890. And if you have a good mailing list please help get the word out by sending an e-card version of the Drift poster to all your contacts. Sidewalk Signs & Banners We've received some funding from G&F Financial to make sidewalk signs which can be used from year to year to make the Drift event more visible on the street. If you have a spot in front of your business and can put up a sign during the Drift weekend Oct. 4&5, and if you can possibly provide storage until next year, please contact Surrinder surrinder@thedrift.ca (604) 872-7233 And thanks to G&F and all the volunteers who are building the boards!

Promotions/Special EventsSeveral Main Street shops and restaurants are hosting a special event or promotion during the Drift (meet the artist, refreshments, discounts for Drift visitors). These will be listed on the Drift web site with details provided by the retailer - the more interesting & specific, the better! If you haven't yet provided details of your promotion or want to add your shop to the list, contact Diane 604 731 6890.
Friends of The Drift/2008 Prize Draw! And last but not least, become a Friend of the Drift . . . & be automatically entered to win great prizes! . . .You will now be entered for the Drift 2008 prize draw for a donation as small as $10.00. Prizes so far include two $500.00 photography courses at Langara Continuing Studies, a $150.00 gift certificate for Dinner for 2 at Aurora bistro, $250.00 worth of Art Supplies from Opus Art & Framing, and more . . . We've set up PayPal to make donations easy. Let your friends know about the draw and sign them up as Drift supporters. All donors' names will appear on the "Friends of the Drift" list on the sponsors page. So far the odds are fantastic, but we'd like to raise a bit more to defray the extra costs of putting on the event this year.
