Mixed Media | Painting | Photography

I have been an artist most of my life but it was  until my adulthood that I called myself that. I'm currently working towards my BFA at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver living in my natal Mexico and Canada.

After doing some commercial work I decided to focus on what interests me most: Identity, gender and sustainability. My artwork is slowly shifting in to more bold work but also more meaningful to me.

In 2011 I decided to move to Mexico to create a body of work that deeply explored my  Mestiza identity and that is how I ended up in San Juan Chamula, Chiapas, Mexico; working in an indigenous community. This project has transformed me as a person and as an artist. The pictures here are work in progress of this long project. I would love to hear what the images mean to you and how the public reads them.
