Penny Lim, Vancouver-born artist, excited to enter school just like her big brothers! A gifted Grade I teacher encouraged her to strive, complimented Penny's printing and drawing. Countless positive influences continued. Extraordinary music teacher as Grade IV homeroom, placed in a split Grade V/VI classroom thereby listening in on the older students' lessons. Drawing enhanced life.
During a lengthy European working holiday, Penny attended Bobo Boden's art class in Germany and painted wall murals of a pre-school which stimulated interest again in the arts. Home in Canada, Penny studied at Capilano College, the Emily Carr followed by a post-grad year in Hangzhou, China.
Both printmaking and sculpture appealed to Penny, however, the electric tools left some discomfort so Penny majored in Printmaking. Visiting Europe to embark on a summer job brought Penny face-to-face with Toulouse-Lautrec's stone lithograph of Mme. Lender! Stone lithography became her specialty major.
