I'm a graduate in Fine Arts at the University of Waterloo and studied photography at Focal Point in Vancouver. My photographs have been exhibited at several galleries in Vancouver. I have taken numerous workshops in paper making and casting, jewellery, calligraphy, sewing, screen printing and other crafty things. I am currently a student in the Advanced Textile Arts program at Capilano University.
I'm in love with colour and texture so I'm drawn to textiles and photography as a way of expressing myself. When I'm not in class or teaching art and sewing to children, I bead, sew and quilt, paint and crochet and often combine two or more of them together. I've got a line of crocheted shrugs, neck wraps and corsages and am currently focusing on fabric collages and art quilts as well as felted vessels and accessories.
For a while now my photographs have been primarily of flora and fauna, especially macro views of a flower's petals or stamens. I'm fascinated by the incredible palette and texture that nature provides. I also enjoy photographing animals, vintage cars, industrial materials and places I've travelled to.
